Portable Accommodation After Grenfell Tower
After the recent Grenfell Tower disaster, many tower blocks across the country are now being discovered to have failed safety tests due to inflammable cladding.
This development has left many of the residents of Grenfell Tower homeless and many others at risk of losing their homes temporarily while their tower block is brought up to the appropriate standards. Here at 4More Space our thoughts are with all those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire and its aftermath.
As a consequence of all this, the need for portable buildings is potentially greater than ever before, and we are more than happy to provide the temporary accommodation that is needed at this time with our modular buildings. Here is a case study below of one building we have produced which may be of interest to those who can help.
Royal Hospital Chelsea
The Royal Hospital Chelsea in London is the home of the famous Chelsea Pensioners, a 66-acre site that acts as a retirement home and nursing home for over 300 veterans of the British Army.
A few years ago, we were asked to build brand new temporary accommodation for the Chelsea Pensioners to move into while their accommodation was undergoing a period of refurbishment. Of course, we said yes.
As you can see from the photographs, we provided a temporary building containing 50 bedrooms, all with en-suite toilets, four shower rooms, a lounge and a reception area.
The building was installed at the hospital in early 2014 and removed recently after the refurbishment works on the Royal Hospital’s existing accommodation had finally been completed.
We believe that this building would provide a fantastic help for some of the people affected in the wake of Grenfell Tower incident, which is why we have now made it available for hire or sale to any interested party. We can also make changes to the layout of the building in order to suit any necessary requirements.
Why hire this building?
The benefits of our
is that it is relocatable, making it no problem for us to distribute directly to a council area. We can also provide full assistance with installation.
As this building was designed for old age pensioners and other vulnerable people, a great many of whom live in tower blocks, we believe that this building is perfectly suited to helping those affected, compared to other less suitable temporary accommodation.
We have an excellent safety record too so you can be sure that the accommodation will be fit for those who need to inhabit it – particularly reassuring in the current climate.
